The company's microbiology laboratory was awarded UKAS accreditation in 1992; the first non-government laboratory in the UK to achieve this standard. This accreditation provides customers with total confidence in the test methods, results and reports issued by the laboratory.Evironmental Permitting (England & Wales) Regulations
In May 2007 Evans Vanodine was awarded a low impact installation permit under the Pollution Prevention & Control Regulations, which has now merged with Waste Management Licensing to form The Environmental Permitting (England & Wales) Regulations.
In order to gain this permit operators must show they have systematically developed procedures to provide the highest levels of protection to the environment by controlling and preventing pollution, utilising the Best Available Techniques (BAT).Environmental Award
Evans Vanodine have been honoured with the Best Environmental Practice Award by the judges of the Northwest Business Environment Awards. Hosted by the Mersey Basin Campaign (MBC) and the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), the awards recognise the success of the region's innovators to combine exemplary environmental management with their production practice.
Evans Vanodine was chosen for the award due to the environmental improvements made to their manufacturing process, which led to a vast saving on waste and water charges. The company undertook a wide range of incentives and adopted new working practices which included the design and application of a new intermediate bulk container washing system and an automated cleaning facility, which resulted in savings of 5 million litres of water annually.International Trade Award
Evans Vanodine was recognised for its approach to international business which has seen the company export to 62 countries. Their successful export strategy has also seen Evans Vanodine engage in partnerships with overseas multinational organisations.
